Vincent Van Gogh

Once upon a time, there was a man and his name was Vincent van Gogh. He was born in Holland and he was dutch. When he grew up he tried many things but not art. When he tried art he was happy and he drew many pictures of sunflowers. One day he was gloomy and sad and he started drinking. Then he argued with his friend and cut his ear. Then he went to a hospital. After that, he drew his self with a bandage and started eating paint. He was always looking for happiness in every picture he drew. One night he went on a walk for the last time.BOOM!! (he was only 37 years old) THE END

Are old buildings a cultural heritage of one’s nation?

Every nation has its own cultural heritage, buildings and historical places. However, an existing controversial issue makes people wonder if those historic buildings are standing in the way of evolution. Many old buildings are protected by from the law because they play a big part in the nation’s history.

Firstly, it is important to maintain old buildings because they have economic value. Many of the historic buildings they are used as museums and attract different kinds of tourists. Besides that, every single historic monument plays a big part in the nation’s history and it is very important for a country to keep its landmark alive. One way to achieve that is to keep historic sites protected.

Many opponents may argue differently, for example, some people believe that new modern buildings are cheaper and way easier to construct. But that is not the case, you can’t just demolish the nation’s history. Many of those buildings are so rare and have such beautiful construction. It is wise to maintain positive in keeping history alive and don’t just rush to cross of such rare monuments.

To conclude, history and big evolutions are written in historical buildings. Each one has its own history written in the walls. It is the cultural heritage of its nation and it does identify the progress society has succeeded all this time. I firmly believe that we need to keep preserving old historic buildings.

The Vikings Civilization

The Vikings came from Scandinavian countries. Most of them were fishermen and farmers. They were travellers and they were the first who sailed North America! They wore clothes made of wool. Women, with the help of children, made the wool. In winter, they hunted and killed animals and used the animal furs to keep them warm. Viking shoes and boots were made from leather or goatskin. They played many different games both as children and adults. They played board games (horse, toy horse and hnefatafl). The Vikings used swords, axes, spears, bows and arrows. They used helmets too. They sailed with longships-35 m. long. The longships would carry between 20 and 60 Vikings. The Vikings civilization ended in 1066.

Christopher Columbus, a great explorer

Christopher Columbus was an explorer. He discovered America. He was a dreamer. He dreamed of reaching the Indies by sailing. To make his dream come true he asked the King of Portugal for help. King John II said NO! Then he went to Spain three times but the king and queen said NO. In the end, they said YES! He started the trip with 90 sailors and 3 ships (NINA, PINTA and SANTA MARIA). They sailed the ocean for over 9 weeks. Finally, they arrived on an island. He thought he had arrived in East Indies. Christofer Columbus never knew that he had arrived in a new land, America!

Μy sister and I have done for all my family. I am glad that we have a console to play or to watch movies and I don’t want to buy a new console.

I love my smartwatch! My uncle bought it for me last summer. The model of my smartwatch is Fitbit charge 2. Last week, I bought a new strap. It has pulse measurement, calorie measurement, timer, daily mileage, stair measurement, and alarm clock. It has a blue colour and it is waterproof. It has a good and strong battery. I only charge for half an hour. Ιts battery lasts for one week. I love it because it reminds me of my uncle who lives in France.

COVID-19:Old age

Real loneliness is not what we used to call during the quarantine. Real loneliness can’t use the internet, Facebook, Viber or Skype. Real loneliness can’t write on a piece of paper or send an SMS to go out of the house. Can’t watch a movie on Netflix to pass the time. It never takes selfies and never shares on Instagram. It doesn’t use smartphones with applications never go for a walk or shopping in a supermarket. For some people, the meaning of life is a door opening, a doorbell ringing. But now, COVID-19 made that doorbell shut out. Real loneliness has wrinkles and it’s called old age. So, think! Every time we feel bored on our sofa, watching a movie eating pizza, every time we complain about those people who feel alone. Those people who have grown others, who have given them their best they could. Those people who got forgotten and rejected much before COVID-19. But even so, they forgive. Love aged people because they carry the charge of them, show them love and kindness.
