Eating healthy is the best thing, all these foods are very good. Eating healthy and exercising is the key to good health but eating unhealthy is the worst, we should not eat this kind of food because they are bad our health!!!

Lesvos!
I live on an island named Lesvos which is the third largest island in Greece. Mytilene is the capital of Lesvos. I has a lot of villages. My villages are Paleokipos a nd Evriaki where I spend my summer holidays. One of my favourite village is Molyvos. At the top of of this village there is ancient castle and the houses a built below it. This village has beautiful sunsets and cobbled streets. My close friend Alex lives there and I often visite him. My island is well-know because of The Petrified Forest and beautiful wetlands thats tourist from all over the world enjoy bird watching. We also have many visitors that come every year to taste our great Ouzo and traditional dishes. Lesvos is a place that you must visit whenever you have tha chance!

Fruit and Vegetables have a lot of vitamins but crisps and sweets have a lot of calories and fat. Healthy food helps our body to grow big and strong. We can eat unhealthy food but not so often because we become plump.

My sister Zoe!
My sister’s name is Zoe. She is thirteen years old. She has long brown hair and green eyes. She is a bit shorter than me and thin. She is a very happy person and always makes me laugh. We always play board games together and she helps me with my homework. We like the same music and we enjoy dancing together. She sometimes plays the guitar and feeds our cats. I am proud of my sister because she is unique and I don’t want to change anything about her. I love my sister because she makes me feel happy every day!

Food pyramid
It is very important to eat healthily. Here is the food pyramid. Fruit and vegetables are very healthy because they ‘ ve got lots of vitamins. We must eat fruit and vegetables every day. It is very important to eat lots of bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and cereal because it gives energy. Beans, fish, meat and eggs give protein and vitamins and we grow strong. Milk and dairy products are very healthy and our bodies grow strong. Oils have got lots of fat but it’s very good to eat 1 spoon of oil. Sweets and chocolate are very unhealthy because they have got a lot of sugar and we mustn’t eat sweets often.

Street food
Very popular street food in Greece is souvlakia. The vendors cut the meat in slices, they
put the slices in a stick and they bake the souvlakia. The vendors serve the souvlakia with
fried potatoes, baked bread pies, onions, tomatoes and sauce with yoghurt and cucumber.
It’s really tasty! I like eating souvlakia very much!

A camping incident!
One day, my family and I went camping in the forest. At night, we stepped inside the tent to sleep. Suddenly, I heard a strange sound. I went out of the tent and I saw a fox. It got scared and left. In the morning, we went to the lake but my sister saw a strange fish and we went out quickly. I asked my sister what has happened. She told us that she had seen a strange fish camping and it had better her leg. Her leg started to swell. My parents had a first-aid kit and reacted quickly. We started packing our things to go back home. I wish we would never go there again!

An unusual friend!
It was a lovely spring day. My mother wool up early and she told me we were going to take a walk in the woods. We went to the woods and I heard a sound but I didn’t. know what it was. My mother didn’t hear this sound. As we were walking, the sound got louder. In a few minutes, I found out where the sound was coming from. It was made by a tree I was scared when I saw the tree but I didn’t leave. The tree was crying. I realised that the tree didn’t have friends to play with. In order for the tree to feel better, I told it that I will come to play every Saturday. The tree was very happy to hear this and agreed. From that day, every Saturday I went into the wood to play with my new friend!

Magic lego!
Last night, an amazing thing happened. I was building a huge portal from lego. Suddenly, I saw something glowing inside and I went through the lego portal. It was a magic portal and I saw people from lego in a lego city. Just at that moment, the magic portal closed. I was very scared because I wanted my family. I found a lego boy and he took me to his family. His father looked at me in a strange way because I was a human. His father took me to see an old man. The old man took his magic wand and made another magic portal. I was very happy because I would go back to my house through this magic portal. When a came out I was in my bedroom again and so relieved this adventure was over. I destroyed the magic portal and never build one again!

Dragon tales (part 9)THE LERNAEAN HYDRA
The Hydra of the lake Lerna is the most known dragon in Greek mythology. According to the myth, Hydra had the body of a huge snake and nine heads. For every head chopped off, Hydra could regrow two other heads. So it was impossible to be defeated. That beast was killed by Hercules with the help of his nephew Iolaus. So first Hercules cut off one head, using the sword that Athena had given to him. Then Iolaus burn the neck with fire, and that way the new heads couldn’t be regrown. Hercules cut off all the heads of Hydra. He placed the last, central head which was immortal under a big rock and dipped his arrows in Hydra’s poisonous blood. The goddess Hera who hated Hercules, placed Hydra in the sky as a constellation.

Dragon tales (part 8)ST.GEORGE AND THE DRAGON
The Christian church created the legend of Saint George battling Satan in the form of a dragon. The legend is very old but it’s known to many cultures in East and West. According to the legend there was a terrible dragon who was causing disasters to a city.
people were forced from the dragon to give hi their sheep every day, but when the sheep were not enough they had to sacrifice humans.One day the dragon asked for the king’s daughter or he would stop giving water to the city. The young lady was prepared to be given to the dragon, at the time that St.George arrived in the city on his white horse. He killed the dragon with his lance and he saved the girl. The king was so grateful.He offered him a treasure for saving his daughter.St.George refuseδ the money and the gold and told the king to give them to poor people. People were so happy and grateful for getting free, that they built a church for St.George.

Dragonn tales (part 7) THE BELIEF IN DRAGONS
Dragons are the most popular mythological creatures. Dragon tales are known in many cultures all over the world.
Sometimes people believed that dragons were useful and protective and other times they believed that dragons were very dangerous creatures. Old Christians believed that dragons represented Satan.
There were many different kinds of dragons, with different colours and scaly skin. Some dragons had wings and could fly. Some others didn’t have wings. They were called warms and they lived in the water (in the sea, lakes or big rivers). Some dragons could speak or breathe fire. Some dragons lived in a palace under the ocean and some others could be found in caves. All of them liked gold and priceless stones. So people believed that every dragon had a treasure. The dragon’s blood was poisoned and someone who battled a dragon could be killed even in that way, by the beast’s blood. Also, people believed that a fearless army of warriors with swords and shields could be created from the dragon teeth if they got seed in the ground.
Dragons are presented in mythology as powerful, fearless and dangerous creatures. Most known dragons in Greek mythology are the dragons of the Hesperide’s garden, who was guarding the golden apples and Lernaean Hydra Both of them were killed by Hercules. Also, the dragon guarding the golden fleece, faced from Jason and Medea. Even the Christian church created legends of saints battling dragons as st. George. They are many tales about dragons in every country and movies were the cast. Evil or good dragons are the favourite beasts of people, especially of children.
