Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is the day of love. Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14. The day is celebrated by many countries around the world, although it is not a holiday day. Handwritten cards, chocolate hearts and red roses are easy to find at any store these days. However, much about how vacations are a mystery. The first Valentine’s Day was in the year 496! Having a particular Valentine’s Day is a very old tradition, thought to have originated from a Roman festival. The Romans had a festival called Lupercalia in the middle of February – officially the start of their springtime. The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men – both named Valentine – on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honoured by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day. Valentine means a loved one’s favourite or congratulations on Valentine’s Day or a gift or greeting that is sent or given specifically to a loved one on Valentine’s Day specifically like a greeting card sent on this day.

Beauty and the Beast

One day a poor man was lost in a big forest. It was snowing when suddenly he saw a big and beautiful castle. The owner of the castle was an ugly Beast. When the two men met the beast asked from the poor man to bring his little daughter Beauty to the castle to live with him. One week later, Beauty came to the castle. At first she was frightened of the Beast but a few days later she understood he was very kind with her. Every day the Beast was asking if she loved him and if she wanted to marry him but she didn’t. When she went to her ill father for a few days the Beast almost died so Beauty came back to the castle to save him. She told him that she loved him and he became a handsome prince. They get married and lived together forever!

The Last of the Mohicans

One day Magua, a very bad Indian arrived to Fort Edward. Cora and Alice, the two daughters of Colonel Muntro were there.Major Heyward had an idea and a few minutes later all agreed with him. So Cora, Alice, Major Heyward, Magua and some soldiers started their way to Colonel Muntro, the captain of the English in Fort Henry. After a lot of adventures with the help of a white called Hawkeye, who lived in a big forest with the two last of the Mohicans, Chingachook and his son, Uncas, they finally arrived to Fort Henry. But one day Magua arrived again with some Indians. He took Cora and Alice and escaped with them. Uncas had a good idea. Hawkeye managed to get in the Hurons camp but he found only Alice. Then he escaped with her. A few days later Magua took Cora and some Indians and they went in a big cave on a big mountain. Uncas saw them. He, Chingachook and Hawkeye followed them. Uncas was the first of the queue. When Magua saw them, he tried to kill Cora but Uncas jumped like a bird in front of her and the died together. The Magua jumped to a nearby cliff. He held onto a tree branch but Hawkeye fired and Magua fell down into a river, a thousand feet below. Now, Chingachook was the last of the Mohicans.

A Palett building

Last year, in a trip to America, I saw something very strange. In the northwest part of America there is a cool palett building. There’s also a paintbrush. The palett building is circular and it has 2 big rectangular doors which are made of glass. It is 150 metres tall! Inside there are 5 hotels. There are also offices, shops for paintbrushes and colours. You can learn about colours, you can go to the theatre and you can eat fast food too. I think it’s like a palace. Visit it and tell me.

An unforgettable day!

One day Tim and Zack decided to go for a walk with their dogs, Lox and Fox. They put on their favourite T-shirts and their shorts and took their bicycles. They were cycling along the park when suddenly Lox started to run far away from them. Tim started to run too because he wanted to catch his little dog. Lox turned the corner at great speed. Suddenly Lox stopped. He had found a wallet. Tim opened it and there was an ID card. So the two friends decided to find the wallet’s owner but it was too difficult. The next day they started asking everyone about the wallet, but no one knew about it. At the end they entered a shop and asked the owner about the wallet. He told them that the wallet was his. At that moment they were very relieved. What a difficult day!

National Marine Park

The National Marine Park of Zakynthos founded in 1999, is a national park located in Laganas bay, in Zakynthos island, Greece. The park is the habitat of the loggerhead sea turtle Caretta Caretta. It is the first national park for the protection of the sea turtles in the Mediterranean. The feeding of sea turtles with fruit and vegetables is the biggest threat. Giving the sea turtles unsuitable food makes them aggressive. So the National Marine Park is a protected area for them and not a zoo to feed or even touch them. In addition to turtles the park protects also seals, birds, frogs, iguanas, water snakes and mammals.

We love learning English

English is a language which is very easy. It’s my third favourite language. We use English in order to communicate with other people who aren’t from our country. Here in Greece, the second language we learn is English and that’s why we love learning English. I have been learning English since I was 9 years old and I haven’t regretted it. I go to the English language a school of Kenteris which is my favourite school because I have the best teacher of all. I speak English not very well but I try to get better. I love learning English and I am very happy that I understand it.
