New Years day is a tradition celebrated all over the world. When the old year leaves and to the new one all people in the world celebrate.Interestingly though people in Greece have some traditions… Ill start with the things we do earlier in the day.Every morning lots of kids gather in teams and sing the carols to all their neighbors and spend time with their friends at the same time.Afterwards in the evening all family members and friends gather for a big feast which includes chicken and potatoes in the oven and Vasilopita etc. When they are all done they all play card games like 21-31 and have a fun time. Lastly at around 12:01 we break pomegranates which supposedly brings good luck to the house due to its big number of seeds that fall on the floor each one is a good luck seed.Also like most of the other holidays there is a big firework show which lights up the dark sky. These are some of the greek traditions.
